Introduction

Vaadhoo is located in Southern part of the country and is the second inhabited island in Raa Atoll. The island reef is the one of the largest in the atoll including a deepwater lagoon and vast area of shallow water. A population of 534 people living in the island is supported from fishing and agriculture. Administered by the Council of Vaadhoo, education, health, welfare and other municipal services are provided to enhance the betterment of the population, in the intention to bring investments and development to Vaadhoo's economy.
